Happy March everyone!
I do like February, mostly because it always goes by so fast and we get that little bit closer to Springtime. The mornings are already getting lighter so it doesn’t feel like such a chore to get out of bed early. February is usually the month I spend any Christmas vouchers left over, after all the crap from the sales has gone. I didn’t get any new clothes but I did get some new books and beauty products…
Caroline Hirons/Pixi Double Cleanse
I’ve only been properly cleansing my face for over a year, before that I used a cheap makeup remover and that was it. I’m loving having a regular skin care routine now though and I’m always on the look out for new products, usually recommended in someone’s favourites blog or video. I can stop looking at cleansers now though because I don’t think I’ll be changing from this anytime soon!
I saw this double cleanser popping up everywhere in January so eventually, I gave into the feeling I was missing out and purchased it from Marks & Spencers. I bloody love it. I have quite sensitive skin so trying a new skin care is always going to be risky but I haven’t taken a reaction to this. It’s a solid cleansing oil and cream duo so basically, you apply the oil first to a dry face and wash off with a warm facecloth and then repeat with the cream. It cuts through makeup like nothing I’ve ever had before. There is no rubbing at your eyes for ages, even waterproof mascara just melts off! This is the first non-scented product I’ve ever tried. It’s strange that it doesn’t leave a scent on your skin but it’s something I can compromise as it makes it so much less harsh on your skin. Even on no makeup days, I’ve been using this in the morning and it really brightens up my skin.
Benefit Roller Lash Mascara
I purchased a new mascara in January and all it made me do was realise how much I love my old faithful, so it deserves to go in this month’s favourites. I have tiny eyelashes that fall out easily and can sometimes be barely noticeable. Roller lash separates my lashes without clumping them together and makes them look like the adverts. I have tried a few other mascaras but always come back to this one. Let’s hope it never gets discontinued!
It was one of my aims this year to get back into reading and I have actually had some spare time to read a couple of books this month. The favourite being Room by Emma Donoghue. I don’t normally like dark books especially when it involves children but this book had me gripped. The storyline is great. It is narrated by a five-year-old so this might be a love or hate book for some people but I loved it and found the little boy narrating really put me inside the book. It was haunting and had me thinking about it for a few days afterwards, probably because it rings true to a few stories in the news recently. It’s not too disturbing though and is a true story of maternal love. I know my cousin has already got it on my recommendation and she loved it as much as I did.
This has got to be my ultimate favourite in February, I’m not ashamed to admit that I visited three times in the one month.
Cosmo’s is a buffet style restaurant at Silverburn Shopping Centre and to be fair, buffets are a hit or a miss with me. It needs to be super fresh, I can’t be doing with the dried up food being left if the restaurant isn’t busy. No chance of that here. Everything is super fresh and it has the widest range of food I’ve ever experienced at a buffet, there are live cooking stations too with food being cooked as you order it, even a Carvery! I am going to do a full review on this so I’m trying to keep this short but everything about this restaurant is faultless, I can’t recommend it enough. The only thing I would say is to be careful what time you go, it’s really busy and sometimes there is a fair size queue to get in, although you can book your table to save the hassle.
That’s it for my favourites this month, let me know if you have any new products you’ve been loving. I also have a new subscribe feature so you can sign up to get an email on all new posts.
