Happy first of December, everyone!
I’ve taken a month off from my blog and I really missed it. November was a really weird month. I had zero motivation and felt like I was at a bit of a crossroads with work so I’ve had a couple of weekends off, took a bit of a step back and I’m starting this month afresh. Being self-employed has so many benefits but you’re also solely responsible for the big decisions to be made and it can be tough. I have made the decision to work from home again and it was a tough one to call. I felt like it was maybe taking a step back with the business but I have worked from home for four and a half years successfully so really it’s nothing to stress over. I’ve tried the renting a room and it hasn’t worked out. Shit happens, I just need to stop letting myself get stressed over it.
My last blog post was just before Halloween and I feel like I’ve only just blinked and it’s my favourite month! The Christmas tree is up and we’re almost finished our Christmas shopping, I think that could be a record for us. I’m not the type to be running around on Christmas Eve but it’s usually mid-December before we’re organised. Does this mean we’re getting good at adulting? I hope so!
So what is the plans for my blog in December? Well, I can’t promise you elf on the shelf tips, although I did bring it up with the girls today, only to be told that they are definitely too old and there would be a better chance of them doing it to amuse me! I’m sure there will be some Christmas baking posts (although banana bread seems to be the favourite at the moment), even older kids can’t resist some baking. I’m sure there will be some posts on Christmas markets and I also love a walk around the garden centres at this time of year, trying not to cry at the queues for Santa. I’ve been told they are too old for that too, bah humbug! I don’t think December will be a month that ideas for blog posts dry up, that’s for sure.
So, here’s our tree this year. It’s difficult to make out but it’s pink and gold for the colours (after much debate). I don’t have any other decorations up yet as nothing else goes with my colour scheme but we’ll sort that over the next few days. Happy December!
