I’ve seen a few bloggers writing about this today. I’m too much of a newbie to be tagged to do Blogtober but I really like this topic, so I’m joining in!
Now, these answers are based on if I actually survived the shock. Hubby once won £5000 on a radio competition and it took me days to stop shaking, I think if we won more than that I would be a complete wreck.
If I actually started playing the lottery regularly (which would help) and we won a huge life changing amount, this would be my wish list…
First of all, I would fly all our family members to Florida. I know Disneyworld is the go-to holiday destination, we’ve been once and it was absolutely amazing. It was our best family holiday and it would be the first place on my mind to go to. Not to a Disney resort but somewhere like Clearwater. Only a couple of hours away from the Attractions but quiet, hot and picturesque. I don’t it would ever be possible to have both our families, Canadian/Scottish in the one place either so hiring out a few villas would be the perfect way for everyone meeting and celebrating. I have this happening in my head now, aargh!
So after a lovely relaxing holiday, getting our head around us being millionaires, what would the long term plans be? We have actually discussed this as a family, in fact, a favourite game of ours is to write down a shopping list of houses, cars, makeup in the eldest daughter’s case and pets for the youngest. This post is what I would do though so house wise, I would like a bigger house in Scotland, detached, 5 bedrooms with lots of land. Another house in Canada so we could visit a few times a year and possibly a nice Villa in Orlando.
Another baby would definitely be on the cards, there would be no issue of the house not being big enough or not having enough money, as would another few pets. In fact, a rescue centre is something I’ve always wanted to run, so that would be something I would look into.
My car of choice would probably not be that fancy, just something brand new with all the gadgets. I know for a fact, Michael could blow the whole amount on cars alone, his wish list garage would be huge.
I would like to have my Pretty Women moment too. Expensive clothes don’t bother me in the slightest but I know I would enjoy that experience, just the once! I’m a penny pincher when it comes to spending money on clothes for myself so I would have to learn to get over that, I’m sure I would manage.
Of course after all the initial hype and spending, I’d do the sensible things. Paying off family and friends mortgages. Getting my dad a grandad flat built onto our house with round the clock care. I would also like to register my wee balloon business as a limited company, open another few branches, with a fleet of my Nissan Cubes. It would also be great to know the kids could go to any Uni they wanted, no expense spared.
It’s nice to dream about these things. Although, at the end of the day, they say money can’t buy you happiness, but most people want to find out for themselves.
