First of all…September?! How the hell did that happen? It just feels that I start a fresh year diary for work and then before I know it, I’m taking bookings for Christmas. The older the girls get, the faster the years seem to go.
Anyway, September is a super busy month but if I write down my goals then I’ll have to report back and tell you if I achieved them or not. This blog WILL make me more organised.
I think I’ve mentioned that we have family coming over this month. Michael’s dad and his lovely wife are coming over for a week in the middle of the month. Before they come, I want to freshen the house up a little. I want to start off with a little re-arranging of furniture. It’s amazing how this can make you feel like you’ve decorated. Some updated pictures in some cute frames that I have my eye on and that should be enough to make me feel like I’ve actually done something to give it a fresh look. No doubt Pinterest will give me some inspiration if I feel that I need to do more.
The dreaded kitchen cupboards. I know they won’t be raiding through my cupboards but these badly need a tidy out and I’ll go with the rule that if anything hasn’t been used or needed for six months then it’s going up the loft or to the charity shop/bin.
Defrost the freezer. I once tried to use a tin of de-icer to do this, it didn’t work, don’t try it.
Fit a couple of new shelves in the linen cupboard and maybe one or two in the living room. Hubby, I know you read this, now the internet can see how much you love DIY, I love you!
I need to do a stock take and work out a better system so I’m not having to go to the suppliers every week. I’ve only been in the shop a few months and I’m still working it the same way as when I was working from home.
Schedule a few holidays in, I only open Thursday – Saturday at the moment but I do deliveries all week and I can still be replying to customers at 10pm at night. I need to set myself some hours and stick to them.
I really want to sort out a rough itinerary for when the family is here. They don’t want it to be too full on but it’s my father in laws first time in Scotland so there are some must sees. If I get a wee list sorted, I can then send it to them and we can decide from there.
Sasha our labradoodle will need a groom this month too so that can get booked.
Price up a break for October? Michael has a few days holiday booked so I’d like to get a cabin booked for then, a few days of peace and quiet. Phones turned off and a bit of time to recharge our batteries.
Start my Christmas shopping. Every year I say I will start early, every year I fail.
Change my diet. This summer has been the worst for unhealthy eating, we’ve eaten far too many takeaways and it’s going to stop. Earlier in the year, I had cut all junk food out my diet and it makes such a difference, I had energy, my skin was clear and my jeans fit better. Eat less, move more!
I do love a new month, ripping off this months page on my desk planner gives me a strange feeling of satisfaction. Let me know if anyone else has a to-do list for September in the comments.
Love, Tammy x
