When you have older children, it gets difficult to do things that everyone will enjoy. The girls tend to want to watch their own shows or YouTube in their bedrooms, only surfacing when they are hungry.
It usually takes a lot of discussions before we settle on a movie or something to do. Sometimes, as a parent, you have to take matters into your own hands and do something you know they can’t resist. Like make a den with loads of covers, cushions and fairy lights! Not forgetting the ultimate way to a teenagers heart, some snacks!
X Factor is now back on tv which means that the countdown to Christmas is officially on! It’s also the perfect excuse to veg out in front of the tv watching something that everyone enjoys. We all enjoy the audition stages the most, sometimes we stop watching it after Bootcamp, unless there is someone really good or local still in the competition.
I’m not quite ready to let go of the family nights yet, so as the darker nights come in, I’ll have to get my thinking cap on to keep the girls downstairs. Usually baking is a hit but I’m needing some new recipes so if anyone has any links or can recommend any baking recipe books, send them my way and we’ll give it a go. I’d love to do a blog post on some of our favourites so I’ll have a think about that too.
Thankyou for all the support on my blogs so far, I love reading your comments and it’s interesting to read the stats and see there is people reading from other countries!
It’s the start of a new week today and I have lots of Autumn cleaning to get done with maybe a trip to Ikea. The exciting mum life!
