Do you ever get they days that you wake up and just think it’s going to be a normal, run of the mill day but then things just go well and you go to bed feeling all warm and fuzzy. Today has been one of they days.
It started with taking the girls to school and jumping back into bed when I came home, Hubby is on late shifts this week so it was a treat for both of us. Work has been crazy busy the last couple of weeks and just getting back to bed for an extra hour made me feel so refreshed!
Then it was time to head to the salon to get my hair done. I went blonde two months ago after always being a brunette, first starting with bayalage then full head blonde. I felt so brave taking the jump and I did like it but I didn’t really feel like myself when I looked in the mirror so decided it was time to say that blondes don’t have more fun. I LOVE getting my hair done, the feeling of someone washing my hair and drying it is the ultimate luxury, I’m easily pleased. My own shop is actually rented from one of my friends, Kirsty…inside her hair & beauty salon, handy! So I’m back to a lighter brown, I’m glad I was brave enough to try the blonde but I’m a brunette at heart.
Here’s the new do…
A lunch date had been planned for the afternoon with my friend Frankie so it was a quick change then off to pick him up. We had planned to go to a local food place at our closest shopping centre but we were so busy doing our own version of Carpool Karaoke that we drove to one much further away. Whenever we get together, it’s always for food and a singing sesh in the car. Today the old-school Take That CDs were broken out though so my throat is actually sore from singing so loud! The first time Frankie got in my car and looked through my cd collection he said “oh my god, you’re so gay” so we get on like a house on fire. I’m still full from our Chinese buffet too.
I really do love days that are just full of things that make you happy. Sometimes we focus on all the negative things and it really does drain you.
Edited to add – As I published this, the dog has just pee’d in the living room and the washing machine overflowed, flooding my kitchen.Oh well, it was good while it lasted, haha!
